Can my name be removed fromalawsuit regarding an accident in which I was not the driver but owned the car?

A friend was driving my car with no insurance. He then hit another car and was arrested for DUI. After being found guilty, he paid restitution for the damages. Now the insurance carrier of the other driver is suing me for medical expenses. My friend has agreed to pay for it in payments. Can I get my name off the judgement before it goes to court?

Unfortunately, you won't be dismissed from the lawsuit because as the registered owner of the vehicle, you are liable for the accident even though you weren't driving. You will be liable for the medical bills, pain and suffering, and wage loss.  Compensation for the medical bills is straight reimbursement.  Compensation for pain and suffering is an amount in addition to the medical bills.  Compensation for wage loss is straight reimbursement.
