Can my remote employer force me to use a webcam in my home?
I work remote from NJ for a company in another state. My manager just told us that in order to have our yearly review, we must use our webcam for the review or we will not have one. Is it legal to force me to use my webcam in my home to have the review?

Unless this action violates the terms of an employment contract or union agreement, it is legal. The fact is that most work arrangements are "at will". This means that a company can set the conditions of employment much as it sees fit. This includes requiring the use of webcams for yearly reviews. If this in not acceptable to you, you can either quit or refuse to use a webcam but risk termination. In fact, you can be fired for any reason or no reason at all, with or without notice.
