Can the county hold me responsible for cutting the grass on my foreclosing property?

I have not lived there or paid the mortgage for over 8 months. The house is completely vacant and empty. The county is sending me threatening letters alluding to fines and asrrest warrants. This sounds spurious to me. What can/should I do?

Yes, if the property is not foreclosed and you are the legal owner of the property  ( if the title/deed is still in your name ).The likelihood is the County has an ordinance requiring you, as the owner, to maintain the property' landscape. For the costs of a landscaper to go out there, you will find that the cheaper alternative to a fime.Good luck.
