Can the manager of my apartment building insist I can not give the door code to my family or friends?

I think that the manager has a right to restrict the amount of people that you give the code to for the safety of the other tenants. If you had a key to give out you would not give them out to a lot of people, correct?  Same goes here.  I think that giving it to a few that help you on a regualr basis is reasonable.  Think if the shoe were on the other foot. Try and compromise.  Good luck.
