It depends on the circumstances and on your lease. If the lease provided, for example, that if you breach it, you have to pay a month's rent in addition to any unpaid rent or any rent for the remaining lease term, that would be enforceable. That said, and while you have to review your lease to see your obligations, normally you would just owe rent for the balance of the lease term or until the landlord successfully re-rents the premises, whichever comes first.
