Can you be terminated for no reason if your employer said you where on probation?
I’d been working for under 3 months at a new employer. They sent me an email me saying that I was on probation for 3 months. Then, weeks later, I was fired for not being happy enough.

Probation or not, the fact is that unless you had an employment contract or union agreement, it was legal. In an "at will" work relationship, a company can set the conditions of employment much as it sees fit (absent some form of actionable discrimination). This inlcudes who to fire and why. In fact, you could have been fired for any reason or no reason at all, with or without notice.
