If I setup an LLC to engage
in e-commerce i.e. to sell
products on Amazon, but
found that to be
unprofitable can I change
the purpose of the LLC to a

Yes, you can do this. You are no longer restricted to the original purpose of your LLC or corporation, or what you described it as engaging in when you registered or formed the business. An LLC or corporation may engage in lawful business.
