The fact is that you are under no legal obligation to speak with the police. This is true even if they come to your house. That having been said, the police will continue to seek you out and may well catch up with you. And they are well trained in getting people to make incriminating statements, either about themselves or others. That's why, you should never submit to any questioning without having a lawyer present. Accordingly, before they find you, you should consult directly with a criminal defense attorney in your area. They can best advise you on this further.
