My son was waiting for an accident settlement but died from an unrelated incident. my husband named beneficiary wants my son’s daughter to receive settlement.
Does she have to pay the medical bills out of the settlement?

Any unpaid medical bills are the responsibility of the person who receives the settlement.
Check with the personal injury attorney who handled the case because that attorney may have paid the medical bills out of the settlement before dispersing the remaining funds to the client.
