Do I have the right to repair damages before I’m charged for them?
I recently came home to a crew of maintenance men in my apartment (without notice) and they were replacing bedroom doors and blinds with intent to bill me for them later. The problem is they are charging me $80 for $20 doors and $30 for $5 blinds. I have a serious problem with this because these are repairs I should be allowed to make myself.

Whether or not you should be allowed to make repairs to broken items in your rental depends upon what your contract states assuming you signed one in that it controls the obligations owed to you by your landlord and vice versa.
If your contract does not state that you can make repairs to items damaged by you at your rental, then your landlord does not have to allow you to first make an attempt to do so.
