Do I need to call my insurance company if I have a new driver?
Hello,
I was wondering if I am legally obligated to call my insurance company when I
have a new driver? Will she be covered if she is in an accident, if I do not
call?
I live in Michigan and have MEEMIC insurance.
Thank You
-Rodney

The new driver won't be covered by your insurance unless she is added to the policy. Therefore, you need to contact your insurance company. If you don't inform the insurance company and she is at fault in an accident, the insurance company will deny coverage because she is an unauthorized driver.
