Good question. Whether or not one is prohibited from ever owning a firearm legally after being convicted to wrongfully discharging a firearm while intoxicated depends upon whether or not the conviction was a misdemeanor or a felony conviction.

If the conviction was a misdemeanor conviction, most likely one can own a firearm legally. If the conviciton was for a felony, then one would have to carefully read the terms of probation concerning the conviction as well as all other sentencing restrictions including firearm ownership.

I suggest you consult with a criminal defense attorney further about your inquiry for a more specific answer to you question.
