Does a municipal criminal citation “no contest” carry a criminal history?
Never arrested, pled “no contest” to a criminal citation in municipal court. Wondering if this would pop up as a criminal conviction?

Under the laws of all states, a "no contest" plea in a criminal matter for all intents and purposes amounts to a criminal conviction for the plead offense which will appear most likely in a background check search of a particular person.
The reason why a "no contest" plea is entered is due to the possibility that there may be a civil action arising out of the criminal matter. The "no contest" plea does not result in an admission for purposes of any resulting civil matter.
