No, you have no obligation to do this. You have fulfilled your obligation, by sending her a valid check: it is not your concern if she does not have a bank account or would prefer to cash it. The law does not give employees the right to specify the form they receive their pay in: a check to be deposited is perfectly valid, as it would be perfectly valid if you paid by direct deposit (and so required her to open a bank account).
