As a benefciairy what are my financial responsibilities?
My mom passed; I am 1 of 3 beneficiaries. The PR, who is also a beneficiary, did not protect the homestead. The 3rd beneficiary hired an attorney to do that which he did not because she withdrew. Why is he being paid out of my 1/3 of the Trust and estate when I didn’t hire him.

Because the attorney was protecting ALL the estates' property, which means all of the beneficiaries interests. Had this been successful, you would have benefitted; you are not permitted to get a "free ride when other beneficiaries pay for something benefiting you.
