have requested and asked for Sunday exemption from work due
to church obligations and convictions.

As long as your work or job *can* be done on some non-Sunday day, they have to accommodate you by adjusting your schedule so that you work other days. The only issue is: can your job be done other times? For example: say you work at a resort or restaurant that gets very heavy Sunday traffic and the only (or at least a major) reason that have someone in your position is for Sunday business: then they would not have to accommodate you, since you not working Sunday essentially invalidates your job. But if the business operates more or less week round, and they could have a different person cover for you Sunday (if they need a worker then) with little or no disruption, they need to accommodate your religious observances and schedule you for other times. If you believe they could accommodate you but refuse to, contact the EEOC about possibly filing a religious discrimination or harassment complaint.
