You can take a driver's examination in another state even though you have been convicted of a DUI in the state that you reside. However, if your driver's license is suspended in the state where the DUI conviction arose, there is a good chance that even if you pass the examination in the other state you might not be able to receive a new driver's license so long as your driver's license in the state of conviction for the offense is suspended.
