You can purchase a home, but I recommend that you do a short term lease until the divorce is finalized. If you purchase a home, then it would be an asset obtained during the marriage and potentially subject to division during the divorce proceeding. If you purchase the home/house after the divorce is finalized, then you won't run any risk of the asset being divided.
