What to do if I need a divorce but my husband was deported a year ago?
We have been married for 4 years and separated for over 3 years.

The law does not force you to stay married just because you can not locate your spouse. But it does require that you go a few extra steps to obtain it. You are going to have to make a concerted effort to locate him and have him served in the other country. Once you locate him you may have to ask the court how they wish you to serve him. If you can not locate him after reasonable efforts they may allow you to publish the divorce action. I would get help. It can get complicated. Good luck.
