Your having no insurance does not bar you from recovery. You can receive compensation for your damages through the at-fault driver's insurance company. However, if they are not insured, you can sue them for the loss of use of your vehicle and related costs (e.g. car rental exenses, etc.). in small claims court. If you had insurance you could also had recourse under the uninsured motorist coverage (but that is no the case here).
