I was not convicted. I recently applied for a job in which I needed to get my fingerprints run through the system. It came back that I was arrested.

The way to possibly eliminate the arrest from public records is to consult with a criminal defense attorney about the possibility of "sealing" your file even though you were not convicted of any crime, the chances of success and the estimated cost. Not all courts grant a petition to "seal" a criminal file even if there was no conviction of a crime.
