The insurance is in my mother’s name. I left the owner a note to contact me.

You, as the at-fault driver, and your mother, as the person who allowed you to drive her car, are potentially liable for the full cost of any repairs to the other vehicle; or for its "blue book" value if it is so damaged that it cannot be economically repaired and must be totalled. Since you had a suspended license, your mother's insurance will most likely not protect her--letting someone with a suspended license drive is generally a violation of insurance policies--so you and she will have to pay any amounts yourself. You could also face a fine and an extention of your license suspension, possibly the revocation of you license.
