If I was caught on a shoplifting charge for $15 worth of merchandise 5 months ago, what will happen to me in court?

The store manager called the cops and I was arrested and taken to the police department where I was photographed and fingerprinted. I’m 18.

If it is your first offense then you will probably be offered a deferred adjudication program, which you should take.  Ask for a lawyer to be appointed for you or get one for a flat fee.  The program will likely rewuire that you participate in a shoplifting course and complete same and maybe do some community service.  It depends.  Then if you stay out of trouble for a specific time frame (generally 6 months) the matter will be dismissed and you will not have a record.  Lesson learned? Good luck.
