What to do if my father just past away and I have received a copy of his Will and a waiver that the lawyer has asked me to sign?

It basically states that I will not contest the Will and I have not rights to anything in my dad’s estate. My sister was named only on the Will since I live in New Zealand. If I sign this does it extend to his life insurance or only to his Will? My sister has explained to me that the life insurance will be split 50-50 and I want to make sure that after signing this waver it will only be valid for his Will only.

I am so sorry for your loss.  Please, please please go and speak with a lawyer and bring all the documents with you.  Do NOT sign anything until it has been read and explained to you in context. You may indeed have a right to half of your Father's estate and you need to know that and not waive your rights away.  Good luck.
