How can I lessen my charges for a 2nd offense in shoplifting?
It has been 5 years since I got the first charge and I was granted deferred prosesecution. What options do I have the second go around?

You may want to contact a local criminal defense attorney in your area, but typically the first time around you are given a deferred status because you have no prior criminal offenses. If charged a second time, especially with the same retail fraud/shoplifting offense, the court/prosecutor may not be as lenient the second time around and you could have a conviction on your record if you were plead guilty or be found guilty at trial. Contact a attorney on this one first.
