How can I stop termination after exceeding the 13 weeks of FLMA but still have time on short term disability and still being treated for cancer?
I am 72 and being treated for cancer. I have exceeded the 13 weeks for flma and being terminated. I am also on short term disability but still have time left, but will be cut off after 30 days. I am still in treatments for another 3 months. can not get unemployment and lose my insurance Do I have any recourse with my company?

I suggest that given the health issues that you have that you consult with a labor attorney about what your legal options are and/or your local department of labor. Under the laws of all states in this country, the only way you can be legally terminated from work is if your employer simply is in a financial bind. Your employer legally has to have a position for you when you come back from disability leave unless the company is in dire financial straights.
