How can my name be removed from my mortgage before my divorce?
I was told today that my name is not on the mortgage loan that my husband and I purchased 14 years ago. I needed to know the balance in order to file the divorce papers. How can my name be removed without my knowledge or consent?

That seems odd. Are you sure that it was always on there? I would double check that he did not refinance behind your back. But I would not worry too much. First, as long as your name is on the deed to the house you are fine and assets purchased during a marriage are generally considered marital assets. Seek legal help. Good luck.
