How can you be charged a week later for a crime that you were never written a ticket or taken to jail on the day the day of the incident?
My girlfriend got arrested on an assult charge. Now its been a week later and i had a constable show up at my door with a summons to appear for interfering with an arresting officer, and dis orderly conduct. On the day she got arrested I did not have a ticket written to me or anything else.

There is NO legal requirement that you get a ticket for a criminal action (e.g. assault) on the spot or the day of, or that you immediately be arrested or taken to jail. It is perfectly legal to receive a legal summons weeks or months later.
