How do I determine if the realtor is properly licensed?

Can I check their license number against a database. I have an offer to purchase my vacation package? How do I know they are legitimate?

Realtors are licensed (and must be licensed) by the state. You can search whether they are licensed with the state. I practice in NJ and so are most familiar with that state, but here is a link to what appears to be a simple, self-explanatory Florida government website that lets you verify licensing--click the link for "search for licensee":
