How do I get a visa to join a religious group?
I am seeking to join a Baptist religious community in the US. I am from Australia. I am making contact with several of these communities. However these require a lifelong vow. How could I stay in the US permanently? Is that possible? Several of the communities are communal if that matters.

You cannot get a visa to join a religious group. You may be able to obtain a religious worker visa if you can document that you have been a member of a certain religious group in your home country and are coming to the US to work in some capacity for that religious group here.
