How do I get my son-in-law to move out?

I own the house. He is not paying rent. It was only supposed to be for “a few nights”; that was over 4 months ago.

If your son-in-law has refused to move out of the house you own after requesting him to do so where he has way overstayed his welcome, you need to serve him with a 30 day notice of termination of his "tenancy".

Once served and if he does not move out after the passage of 30 days, your option would be to file an unlawful detainer action in the county court house where the property is located. At this point you should consult with a landlord tenant attorney to assist you if you have not retained one for the 30 day notice of termination.
