How do I go about helping my wife obtain residency in the U.S?
I am a born citizen in the United States. My wife was born in Mexico and was brought here illegally when she was only a few months old. What would be the first step to change her status to legal?

If she is over the age of 18, under the current immigration laws, she is not eligible to adjust status to permanent residence within the US even if she is married to a US citizen if she entered the US unlawfully.
