There is no hard-and-fast answer the law doesn't specify a time period during which they must respond. Try sending them a letter, sent some way or ways you can prove delivery such as certified mail, fed ex, etc., which restates the timeline, how many times and how you've tried to contact them, and asks for a response. If you don't get anything in, say, 10 business days, send them a second letter, with the first as an attachment, requesting that they contact you in another, say, 15 business days. If they still don't supply any acceptable response at all, at that point, you may wish to file a breach of contract i.e. violation of their obligations to you under the policy, which is a contract suit against the insurer, as the only way to force a response.
