How is the INTERSTATE COMPACT AGREEMENT supposed to work?
My fiance had a pending case in another state, before his court date there he was arrested here. He signed the interstate compact agreement so he could get his out of state charge settled and was told after he was sentenced there he would be transported back immediatly for his charges here. However, now his court appointed lawyer is saying that he has to file for transportation in order to get back up here.

What is his court appointed lawyer is probably correct based on the charges. Let's look at the global picture: why are you with someone who has two charges in two separate states. Think about that before you move forward with helping him.
