How long do I have to file a negligence claim?

I got hurt at work and I was on workers comp for a year then they settled. I’m back to work now but in pain and can’t do what I used to so I make a lot less money. It’s been 2 years now.

If you want to file a neglignece claim against your employer or a co-worker for a work related injury, typically the time to file a lawsuit under a given state's statute of limitations is one (1) year from the injury. However, if you were injured at work and your employer had worker's compensation insurance in effect (as required by law), then most likely you would be precluded under the law from filing suit for negligence. I suggest that you consult immediately with a personal injury attorney about the matter you have written about.
