Your gender doesn't matter but your age does. Until a child reaches the "age of majority" they are subject to parental authority and control. If they leave their parent's residence before then, the police can be called to being them back home. In FL a person reaches majority when they turn 18.
If, prior to that time, a child wants to move out of the parental home they can apply for "emancipation". If granted by a court, a person under 18 years of age can legally be treated as an adult.
