Do you mean to start a comp case?  To start a workers’ compensation claim you have to notify your supervisor of your illness or injury within 30 days of occurrence. You must have had to take time off from work to have dealt with the situation or get medical attention for it. You MUST report lost time immediately and it has to be documented.  Your employer also must either accept or deny your claim within 14 days of when you file it. If you are having difficulty I would speak with a comp attorney.  Good luck.
