Do you have an employment contract or union agreement that provides you work fewer hours? Does your schedule violate company policy? Are your working hours the result of some form of actionable discrimination? If not, as an "at will" employee, you have no protection in terms of working less time. The fact is that, in most employment relationships, an employer can set the terms and conditions of the workplace much as it sees fit, this includes who works and when. For their part, an employee can either comply with their employer's demands or quit.
