What to do if I’m being accused of smoking weed in my dorm room?
However, they only verified a smell and have no proof that I was in possession of any illegal substance or paraphernalia. I was also not present when the cops showed up at my door. I have to meet with the assistant dean to discuss my case and I do not know what to expect.

If you have only been accused of smoking weed in your dorm room and only accused I would write the assistant dean denying any wrong doing and ask for a face to face meeting with him or her to discuss the matter further. Note, the air system in dorm rooms can move odors all over from room to room.
