Just how much support am I legally required to give?

I am court ordered to provide health insurance for my son through my job. His father now want me to give him money on the side as well. Am I required by law to do so even if there’s no court order? After they take out the health insurance for my child, my paycheck is about $545 with a total of $1090 per month but my rent is $800, leaving me with a budget amount of $290 and that does not include utilities. There’s currently no request for child support at this moment besides the health insurance. I’ve asked him to take me to court before so he can get more child support. I also have 3 other children that live with me.

So long as there is no court order in place stating that you have to pay more that the health insurance that you have written about then you are under no legal obligation to pay the money demanded on the side by your son's father. It sounds that the son's father is simply trying to see if you will pay money to him that you are not obligated to do.
