It may. If this was your first offense and it is for petty theft than you're most probably going to be given probation. If this is the case than to leave the state (maybe even just the county) you will have to have permission from your probation officer or the court (whichever is supervising your release).
If your travel is employment related that will better your chance for receiving permission.
As the saying goes, don't leave home without it.
