How much does the court ask? There is no house in the estate and the heirs all agree to the settlement.

You as the Executor have the ability to "fire" the attorney on the estate if you believe that they are not handling the matter properly. I am assuming that you are paying them on an hourly basis here? It is my understanding that attorneys may only charge a "reasonable" fee based upon the work done in the estate. I would talk to the attorney and ask for an accounting of the work done and fees charged. If you need to you can arbitrate the fees. Good luck.
