In�the majority of�states a minor child cannot choose with which parent they want to live. However, while a child cannot outright make that choice, if they over the age of 12, their preference is given consideration by the court (the older the child, the more weight it is given).
The fact is that, a court will look�at many factors - the child's relationship with each parent, the reason for wanting to relocate, the income and education of the parents, etc.
