If I filed for divorce a few weeks ago using a lawyer but now want to cancel the divorce papers, how would I go about doing this without having to use my lawyer?

Unfortunately you need to consult with your attorney on the matter.  He or she is the attorney of record on the paperwork. If you and your spouse are in agreement then you can withdraw your paperwork or file a revocation form.  Each state's procedural laws will govern how this is done (a revocation form, etc).  The stage of the proceedings matters too.  You should speak with the court clerk and see what it is they want but please: dont go behind your attorney's back.  If you are trying to save the fees then that is reasonable and let him or her know that.  Send a letter asking him to do no more work to complete the divorce.
