What to do if I gave a deposit to a private seller to purchase a vehicle but the sellers is avoiding my attempts to contact him to finalize the sale and transfer title?

The seller has been driving the vehicle all this time (6 weeks).

If there was an agreement to sell the vehicle and you gave a deposit on it, the seller must sell it to you, or else pay you monetary compensation (such as returning the deposit and paying you, for example, the difference in price between this car and a similar car, if a similar car purchased elsewhere would be more expensive). If the seller will not respond to you, your recourse is to file a lawsuit against him, seeking either compensation or "specific performance"--that a court order him (injunction) to go through with the sale.
