What are my rights if I gave my ex-husband my signature for a car loan?
He sent me an email validating the terms of the contract. The time for the contract passed 10 months ago and the contract terms are in default. This is ruining my credit and my financials. I asked local lawyers in my area and they told me that I don’t have anything valid to sue him but I refuse to believe that. He is in one state and I live in another. What can I do?

If there was an agreement between you that he would pay the loan, you *may* be able to sue him for the monies he should have paid. Much depends on whether the loan is in both your names and you just co-signed or whether the loan is in your name only. If the latter case, then an agreement for him to pay would only be valid if in writing.
