If I got a ticket for public urination but was not arrested, should I get a lawyer or just show up and payat my court date?

If you an afford an attorney, it's always better to have one. The lawyer may be able to get the ticket dismissed--either by showing that there was something improper about it, or by negotiating with the prosecutor, whom the attorney will know professionally and have appeared before previoiusly (if he/she's an experienced lawyer), so as to avoid having a public record of it.
