If I have a criminal conviction from 7 years, will this show up on a background check?
Also, is the 7 year period starting from the date of arrest or date of the conviction?

My experience with employment law situations is that if one has a criminal conviction be it for a misdemeanor or felony if a background check is done of a particular person with such a conviction, a conviction more than twenty-five (25) plus years ago will show up in such a report by standard reporting agencies for such matters.
Even arrests with no convictions will show up on one's background check for the above stated time period.
