Can a minor child choose not to visit a parent?
I have a friend who is 14 years old. She currently lives with her mother and step father, but is required to visit her biological father every weekend. Is there any way she can legally stop having to visit her father? For years she has told me how he has physically abused her. He also is an alcoholic and just recently was arrested for his third DUI.

If your teenage friend does not wish to visit her biological father due to past abuse I suggest that she contact a teacher or someone with Child Protective Services to report her fears. From there there most likely will be a course provided to prevent further contact with that one parent.
