What to do if I have a petit larceny charge for $ 95 and this is my first offense?

All the officer did was write me a citation and told me when to go to court. I realize that I made a stupid mistake. What is the best advice and what will happen when I go to court?

I suggest that you contact a private criminal defense attorney to represent you at the upcoming hearing to see if you qualify for the court's diversion program for a first time offender. If you do, and you adhere to the program the charge should be dismissed.
